Suspension Repair
Full diagnosis and repair of the suspension system — springs, dampers, bushes, arms and joints — measured against tolerance before anything is replaced.
We carry out this work at our own workshop at Nairobi CBD, Kirinyaga Road, behind Eagle Towers. Diagnosis comes first, the quotation is written, and you approve it before anything is replaced.
What this service involves
- Loaded and unloaded lift inspection so worn bushes and joints show movement.
- Measurement of ride height side to side and front to rear against the standard figure.
- Damper test for leakage, gas loss and rebound behaviour.
- Replacement only of components outside tolerance, itemised in writing before work starts.
- Wheel alignment after any component that affects geometry is disturbed.
Symptoms that bring vehicles in for this work
- Knocking or clunking over bumps and speed humps
- The vehicle leaning or sitting low on one corner
- Steering that wanders or feels vague at speed
- Uneven or feathered tyre wear
- Body roll in corners that was not there before
Components typically involved
- Coil and leaf springs
- Shock absorbers and struts
- Control arms
- Arm, stabiliser and subframe bushes
- Ball joints and tie rod ends
When to have it inspected
Have the suspension inspected every 10,000 km on Kenyan roads, and immediately after any heavy pothole impact or if the vehicle starts sitting unevenly.
What to expect
Road test, lift inspection and a written quotation the same day. Most single-corner repairs are completed within a working day once parts are approved.
About the workshop
Mr Valentinus Auto Care Ltd has operated from Nairobi CBD, Kirinyaga Road, behind Eagle Towers since 2010. Every job starts with a road test and inspection, is quoted in writing with labour and parts listed separately, and is only carried out after you approve the quotation.
Parts are supplied as part of the work we carry out so that we remain accountable for both the component and the fitting.

Frequently asked
Do I have to replace all four shock absorbers?
No. We replace in axle pairs where wear differs, and we show you the tested unit so you can see why it failed.
Can worn bushes cause a steering fault?
Yes. Worn arm and subframe bushes change geometry under load, which is regularly misdiagnosed as a steering rack problem.
